It's fitting that Chelsea is a tortoiseshell; her nature is that of an introvert. A shy cat, Chelsea has been at Safe Haven since she was a kitten, long enough to see many other felines, including her best friend, get adopted. Staff and volunteers have been patiently working with her, rolling balls, waving feathery wands, and dispensing cat treats. Little by little, Chelsea has made progress. From being a curious cat who would follow us around but stay just out of touch, she has become one who allows petting when she's in the mood for it. Our hope is that she will be adopted by someone who doesn't require a lap cat and has the patience to gain Chelsea's trust..
